Aesthetic Orangeries
Get Your DesignsOriginating from Italy in the 16th century, orangeries have evolved from simple structures for cultivating tropical plants during winter, to sophisticated home extensions that offer a unique blend of indoor and outdoor living.
Having an orangery in your Cornwall home not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also increases its value. It provides additional living space that can be used all year round, thanks to its unique design that allows for natural light and warmth while offering insulation during colder months.
Protection & Freedom
We use high-quality materials and employ experienced and skilled installers to ensure the structural integrity of our orangeries. As a result, we offer all our products with a 10 year guarantee to provide peace of mind to homeowners, who can rest assured that their investment is protected. It also reflects the confidence that we have in the quality of our products and the expertise of our installation team.
Here at Rodda and Hocking, you can customise your Cornwall home to your heart’s content. With a variety of styles, colours, and finishes, you have the opportunity to design the orangery of your dreams.
Further Customisation
Like every homeowner, your orangery should be just as unique. Our array of customisation options allows you to design an orangery that reflects your style, complements your Cornwall home, and meets your specific needs. We offer a range of conicals from curved to one-, two-, or three-tiered, that are available in four standard colours and any RAL colour. For added comfort why not invest in our super-insulated columns which come in a range of colours, panels and sizing.
Our roofs can feature large spans and door openings alongside multiple glazing options, including shaped, side-shaped, and full-length panels or a combination of all three. We also offer the option of performance glazing depending on how much sun your orangery is exposed to, which has a 1.0 W/m²K U-value and high or low light transmission and solar rejection.

What are orangeries?
An orangery is a home extension with a glass and solid roof, often featuring one or more roof lanterns. They originated from the 17th century as a structure where citrus trees were grown during the winter months, and over time have evolved to become versatile living spaces that blend seamlessly with the rest of the home. They are a suitable addition for homeowners looking to open up their property to increase their levels of natural light, whilst creating an additional living space.
What is the difference between an orangery and a conservatory?
Unlike conservatories, which have fully glazed roofs, orangeries have a solid flat roof with a glazed lantern roof. This design allows for more insulation, making orangeries more energy-efficient and comfortable to use throughout the year. However, conservatories can be customised with a solid or tiled roof to provide a similar effect.
Why are orangeries so popular?
When executed well, orangeries are durable and resistant to weather and temperature fluctuations. This makes orangeries ideal if you wish to have additional living space, but are a more cost-effective option than purchasing a bigger home.
How much are orangeries?
Due to the extensive range of sizes and customisation options available, we are unable to provide a rough estimate without knowing how these factors impact your Cornwall property. Contact us on 01209 718002 or use our online quoting system for more details.

Just had new porch windows and doors fitted. Couldn’t fault the guys fitting them polite professional, and tidy, took all the windows away and left no mess whatsoever. Thanks very much for a job well done.

We had two of your team members come along to do roof insulation on our conservatory. We were very pleased with their work, and it looks a treat. They cleaned up afterwards and took all the rubbish away. We would certainly recommend this Company to anyone needing this type of work.
Julie Ancell
Had windows, guttering, facias and a small conservatory replaced. Initially, I came and did a quote which was thorough and very competitive. Fitted really well despite very poor weather. Extremely pleased with the finished work; it looks great. Thanks.
